Event Management
Aim
This course will provide event planners with greater awareness of the main principles and techniques associated with successful event planning and management. It is designed to encourage a professional and efficient approach when planning events.
Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Identify the importance of planning in event management
- Identify the main components of a successful event
- Select an appropriate site/venue for the event
- Set and monitor budgets in regard to the event
- Organise a social programme
- Manage the event on-site and co-ordinate personnel
- Evaluate and analyse the outcome of the event

- Booking a speaker and arranging food, décor and entertainment

- Evaluating and analysing the success of the event
This course is highly participative and is delivered through a mixture of tutor input, large/small group discussions and activities. The focus will be on the practical elements and exploring various scenarios with reference to situations that are commonly encountered.
