Positive Publicity

Aim

This course will enable participants to identify the publicity needs of their organisation and to produce suitable and effective publicity materials.

 

Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • identify suitable media for publicising their organisation
  • plan a range of publicity materials
  • produce suitable publicity materials
  • evaluate the effect of materials produced

Course Content

The course will cover:

  •  how to use effective public relations
  •  identifying potential publics
  • choosing a range of public relations/advertising media that are fit for purpose
  • producing effective PR/advertising materials suitable for the purpose (e.g. how to write a news release, how to create copy for a leaflet, how to script a radio advertisement)
  • dealing with the media
  • communicating important information to staff

This course will consist of tutor led sessions combining a workshop approach with practical exercises and discussions.  Example scenarios from the workplace may be used as a basis for applying the principles discussed.

This course is suitable for anyone who wants to plan positive publicity for their organisation, either to internal or external publics, through a variety of media in a creative way.

Courses covering a wide range of public relations writing skills can be tailored to meet specific requirements.
